Terms of use

This website is run by PowerShare, an early-stage company building equipment and software that let owners of solar or generator power sell spare electricity to neighbours in Nigeria. By using the site you agree to these terms. Questions: hello@usepowershare.com.

Example figures

Every earning, top-up, price, reading, neighbour name and payback figure on this website is an illustrative example. That includes the homepage animation and its "Today" total, the "Your number" calculator, the app screens and the use cases. They are not a promise, forecast or guarantee of income.

What you actually earn depends on, among other things:

  • the size, condition and running cost of your power source;
  • the price you set and how many neighbours connect and how much they use;
  • outages, fuel prices, weather and equipment downtime;
  • installation, maintenance, financing, taxes and PowerShare's fees;
  • the rules that apply to selling electricity where you are.

The calculator simply multiplies the values you choose. It does not subtract fuel, maintenance, installation or any other cost, and it does not take account of fees or tax.

Product information

PowerShare hardware is in development. Images are computer renders. Specifications, features, availability and prices may change before launch, and nothing on this site is an offer to sell.

Early access

Registering interest does not commit you to buy anything, and does not guarantee you a unit, a price or a delivery date.

Selling electricity

Selling electricity to others may require registration, a permit or other approvals from federal or state authorities. As an owner you are responsible for complying with the rules that apply to you. We will share what we learn, but nothing on this site is legal, financial or investment advice.

Using this website

The content of this site belongs to PowerShare. You may share links to it, but not copy it for commercial use without permission. We work to keep the site accurate and available, but provide it as it is, and we are not liable for decisions made in reliance on it, to the extent the law allows.

Changes and governing law

We may update these terms; the date at the top shows the latest version. These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
